As a true biker, Andreas Seidel was often surprised at the relatively high prices of original spare parts from well-known manufacturers. Inspired by the conviction that recycling should be possible for motorcycles in the same way as for cars, and supported by increasing environmental awareness, Motorrad-Verwertung Hamburg (MVH) was founded in 1997.
After the founding, the focus of the business model was initially on the purchase of used and accident motorcycles whose parts had been recycled. In addition to commercial customers, the number of private customers also grew rapidly due to the very attractive offers. Due to the steady expansion of the business, the first move from Hamburg to Stapelfeld became necessary in 2001.
Due to great demand, the product range was expanded to include new parts in 2004, which also recorded high growth. The owner-managed company has even been a direct importer since 2012. In the first step, batteries from well-known Asian manufacturers were imported, which were supplemented by other attractive products such as "scooter parts" as the company continued to develop. The growth associated with the realignment once again made it necessary to move to Halstenbek, which is conveniently located in the north-west of Hamburg. Due to the stronger focus on new parts, the company was also renamed "Motorradteilevertrieb Hamburg" and an attractive local shop was added.
