Secret of the new Iridium IX spark plug is the laser welded electrode made of iridium. Through their'minimalen' diameter of only 0.6 mm it bundles ignition voltage. All spark plugs marked "R" have an integrated 5 kOhm suppression, which is only necessary if not already 5 kOhm suppressor caps are used. In general, 5 kOhm suppression per cylinder, 10 K-Ohm spark ignition energy may decrease.
