Prestolith® Polyester Resin 600429. presto Polyester Resin is an elastic, highly reactive unsaturated polyester resin that can be used on virtually any surface, especially in conjunction with fiberglass fabric or fiberglass mat for bridging larger holes, rust-through and damaged areas. Can be used very well on metal, wood and concrete, in the automotive sector, household, garden (spray fiber ponds), mold and model making and in other industrial areas, for example on leaking pipes and tubes, boilers, boats, etc.

Application

1. The damaged area should be derusted, clean, dry, free of grease and sanded.
2. Depending on the size of the damaged area, cut presto Glass Fiber Mesh to size so that there is still sufficient overlap margin.
3. Take the required quantity of resin from the package, mix well with the appropriate quantity of hardener and apply in one operation as follows:
4. Coat the pre-treated surface with resin and place the cut glass fiber material on top.
5. Press on evenly with a brush, starting at the edge, and soak again with polyester resin. Glass fiber must not have any air pockets.
6. As the last layer, presto glass fiber fleece should be applied and dabbed over, as a suitable surface for subsequent build-ups. A build-up in several layers is possible.
7. If the surface is to be painted, further treatment with presto filling filler or presto fine filler is recommended. The sticky surface of polyester resin functions as an optimum adhesion promoter. However, this can also be washed off with nitro thinner if desired.
8. Clean tools immediately after use, wash off with Nitro Thinner if necessary.
9. Do not return mixed material to the can.
10. After approx. 40 minutes, the filled surface can be drilled, sanded, sawed, filed and painted.
